This painting was inspired by a beautiful scene which Marvin Chew saw during his trip to the Sarawak Culture Village in Malaysia. He was enchanted by the peaceful landscape and nicely forged the serene ambience in this artwork. The composition of this artwork was nicely structured, the contours of the riverbank naturally lead the viewer’s vision into the distance where a pavilion is situated. The river then stretches on, creating space for imagination.
Marvin Chew has held 4 solo exhibitions thus far in his professional career as an artist. In 2008, Marvin participated in Folk Art Forum exhibition held in conjunction with Rainforest World Music Festival in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. 10 years later, 2018 he participated in the inaugural “International Watercolour Masters Exhibition 2018” at Weston Park, United Kingdom. In June 2021, his painting was accepted by the National Watercolour Society 101st International Open Exhibition which marked Marvin’s third acceptance.
